(Bloomberg) -- The top U.S. infectious disease scientist deems the coronavirus outbreak’s scope “not encouraging,” as the number of deaths in Italy spiked by more than 50%. Egypt reported the first death in Africa and France’s confirmed cases exceeded 1,000.
