LOLC to sell 70 percent stake in Cambodian microfinance institution

Senewiratne LOLC Group, being the second-largest publicly traded company by revenue, will sell its 70 percent stake in Prasac Microfinance Institution Ltd. of Cambodia, which also counts Hong Kong’s Bank of East Asia Ltd. as a shareholder, LOLC’s Deputy Chairman Ishara Nanayakkara told the media.

Alcohol, ‘Asian glow’ mutation may contribute to Alzheimer’s disease, study finds
This mutation in aldehyde dehydrogenase 2, or ALDH2, is associated with facial redness following alcohol consumption. It causes the activity of the enzyme to be greatly reduced, resulting in the buildup of acetaldehyde, a toxic product of alcohol metabolism. The body responds to the presence of the toxin with skin flushing and inflammation.

Economic managers cut growth forecast for 2019
