As condemnation flooded in from across the political spectrum, a spokesman for Belfast's Islamic Centre said Mr Robinson had caused hurt to his community. However, Raied Al-Wazzan issued an invitation to the DUP leader to visit them and discuss his "unfortunate" comments.
