Former Notts County players were reunited as they attended the funeral of Derek Pavis, the chairman who oversaw the rise of the Magpies to the old Division One and transformed Meadow Lane. Their tributes contained a recurring theme. "There's only so much meat on the bone, my lad" was a popular saying of Derek Pavis.
