Now 91 years old and a resident at Homestead Assisted Living, she has begun to give some of her hats away. Still, dozens of her favorites hang from nails in the walls of her room, several are stacked in her closet and others are draped on a coat rack. She never leaves home without one. “I always wear a hat,” she says.
