Robert Cormier spoke eight languages, traveled to 70 countries and spent more than two decades serving a diverse inner-city community in New Jersey as a Catholic priest. An avid outdoorsman, he planned to make Mount Hood his last climb. At 57, he felt he was getting too old to scale mountains.
