Abominable heating bills are catching Michiganders off-guard several weeks after the heavy, frigid winter ended. Snow, ice and bad weather blocked reader access to meters for roughly 10% of residences, as customers used large amounts of natural gas to keep warm. But now, the companies are catching up.
