Syracuse, N.Y. -- Inside First English Lutheran Church today, people were mopping, bagging up garbage and tidying pictures in the sanctuary. It seemed like early spring cleaning. But it was the last cleaning. The church, at the corner of Townsend and James streets in Syracuse for more than 100 years, is having its final service Saturday.
