My dad once brought some rhubarb to the house when I was about 8 or 9. I remember him being excited about it. It looked like a bunch of thick pinkish-red strips, and it had an eerily sweet flavor. He gave it to my mom to cook, but I don't think the rest of the family liked it as much as he did.
