Granderson, with the Tigers in September 2004 in his second major league game, desperately tried to take away a home run from Paul Konerko of the White Sox. In a similar all-out effort in the postseason this year, Granderson, at 35, robbed the Giants’ Brandon Belt of an extra-base hit. Credit Jeff Roberson/Associated Press.
