FLOODWATERS: Floodwaters are still spreading, but the damage done is mainly confined to the pumping plants on the river banks owned by private individuals. The boat-house has several feet of water inside it and the dwellings over the other side of the river are now mostly flood washed. The wharf guage showed 24ft.
