8am: Tribune242 HURRICANE Matthew is gaining new strength over the Bahamas early on Thursday. The US National Hurricane Center in Miami says Matthew's top sustained winds have risen from 115mph to 125mph in just a few hours as the storm continues to batter the central Bahamas and home in on New Providence and Andros.
