Story Highlights. It's difficult to determine the number of casualties from the storm in Haiti because phone communication was cut off from the hardest-hit areas. The storm has reportedly contributed to at least 11 deaths, including five in Haiti. The town of Baracoa, Cuba, hit hard by extreme wind and strong storm surge.
