The Nov. 10 email came from Julie Rodriguez at the White House: Would I come in to meet with President Obama and his senior staff “to discuss the moral urgency of passing immigration reform”? Surely it was a joke. Why would I get an invitation? But by the next morning I’d learned that the invitation was for real.
