ENDANGERED elephants are up against a new and horrifying threat: skinning. The butchered bodies of illegally killed Asian elephants, stripped of their hides, have been found deep in the jungles of Myanmar. Great swatches of skin are being hacked away to feed a growing demand in China, used in medical potions and jewellery manufacturing.
