Tonya Chandler was among the first to arrive Saturday for Gospel Fest, the Labor Day weekend community festival and sacred music showcase for Joliet’s southeast side held outside the Harvey Brooks Foundation on McDonough Street. Despite pleasant temperatures, the asphalt still got hot under the bright sunlight.
