He was married to Marion Bugh on May 26, 1950, in Cherokee. He had worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 25 years, Williams TV and KSCJ Radio Station in Sioux City, drove gas transport for Saunders Oil, drove truck for Sioux Transportation, and Yellow Freight, retiring in 1986.
