| Hinch avoids jail on contempt of court conviction |

Melbourne broadcaster Derryn Hinch has been fined $100,00 but has avoided jail for contempt of court for breaching a non-publication order over the Jill Meagher murder case. Justice Stephen Kaye said Hinch had a disgraceful record of contempt and he deliberately set out to undermine the administration of justice in this state.
