In a statement, Mr Rudd said he had requested a meeting with the Prime Minster this morning to discuss his bid, but Mr Turnbull refused to see him. Earlier, Mr Turnbull announced that was not backing the former PM’s bid to run the United Nations, saying he is not suitable for the role.
