Mr Rudd’s nomination was discussed in today’s Cabinet meeting where ministers made the decision whether or not to support his candidacy. Asked by reporters on Thursday afternoon if the Government had given Mr Rudd the thumbs up, Mr Turnbull played his cards close to his chest.
