The Bangkok Post says Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra extended an invitation to the pontiff during her trip on Thursday to the Vatican, making her the first Thai prime minister to visit the Holy See in Rome since Field Marshal Plaek Pibulsonggram in 1955. "It is unclear when the papal visit will take place," the paper said.
