I WAS recently in a local hostelry, having a drink and chatting with a few pals, when someone mentioned Tamworth's old railway station and how the town was poorer without it. It reminded me of the Station Café that stood on the left hand side of the approach road, adjacent to the goods yard which today serves as the railway station's car park.
