The ongoing Syrian conflict and the almost-imminent US strike have all the ingredients that could snowball into yet another world war, warns the Vatican. As Syrian President Bashar al-Assad warned any external intervention could trigger a regional war, the Vatican has said the turmoil could spiral into a global crisis through further polarisation.
