EACH Mother's day I send not one but two Mother's Day cards. The first, of course, is to my own mother, and the second is to another woman, who made my mum the great mother she is. My grandmother, Bridie C. Shine, came down from Dublin in the 1950s to help manage a family business in Moyvane, north Kerry.
