Jamil Sekyanzi's problems started at the time of his birth in the family compound. His pregnant mother had been left alone at their home in Kisaana village, Kalungu district, as everyone was away for a ceremony. As she went about her chores, the labour pains started, and after a lonely long struggle, she pushed the baby boy.
