Winthrop R. “Rob” Wright, 79, a former history professor at the University of Maryland who also had served on the faculty Senate and as president of the campus branch of the American Association of University Professors, died Dec. 22 at his home in Cumberland, Maine. The cause was complications from Parkinson’s disease, said his wife, Polly Wright.
