Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Shaker Aamer was today urged to give evidence to Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee. Committee chairman Dominic Grieve stressed Mr Aamer’s claims to have been tortured — and that a British intelligence officer knew about it — would be “taken seriously”.
