| Radio Calls Spread News of Pope Visit to Kasese |
|
Kasese District in western Uganda was not on Pope John Paul II's itinerary when he visited Uganda in 1993. It was, therefore, shocking when he visited the district. A Kenyan newspaper reported about it thus "Pope goes to the bush." The visit evokes feelings of nostalgia in Bishop Emeritus Egidio Nkaijanabwo, the Pope's host then.
