An Ottawa man is now an ordained priest 40 years after the Catholic Archdiocese told him he was "not the right person" for the job, which pushed him to become a philosophy professor. Father Michael Hartney was ordained on Sunday by Ottawa's Catholic Archdiocese and is now the assistant priest at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica on Sussex Drive.
