In the person of the former auxiliary bishop of Poznan, Damian Bryl, Pope Francis has appointed a new bishop to head the Kalisz-based diocese in western Poland, announced the apostolic nunciature in Warsaw on Monday.
Last October the Pope accepted the resignation of the then Bishop of Kalisz, Edward Janiak.
