Kennedy shook hands with most of the 200 people attending the breakfast, which was part of a quick Nebraska tour. Breakfast attendees couldn’t have imagined what would happen in the future — the tragic deaths of a popular president and his brother and, later, an explosion that destroyed the hotel.
