A native of Girard, and most recently residing in Valrico, Irene was born Oct. 27, 1951, in Youngstown. The first daughter of James C. and Josephine Cunningham Davis, Irene was a graduate of Girard High School. She received her B.A. degree in journalism from Youngstown State University.
