Colorado gives Democrats first Senate pick up of the night The first Democratic pick up of the night came in Colorado, where John Hickenlooper, the state’s former governor, defeated Republican incumbent Sen. Cory Gardner, according to NBC and Fox. Colorado has shifted in Democrats favor since Gardner was first elected in 2014.
