Three IRA members busted out of a Dublin prison in one of the most brazen jailbreaks ever, on October 31, 1973. Guards at Mountjoy Prison were expecting a visit from the Minister of Defence when a helicopter landed in the exercise yard. By the time they realised something was amiss, three prisoners had jumped aboard.
