The French National Assembly on Thursday overwhelmingly approved new nationwide lockdown measures a day after President Emmanuel Macron said a they were necessary since the second wave of the virus was "likely to be deadlier than the first". Prime Minister Jean Castex is set to detail the measures in a national broadcast Thursday evening.
