The Motulalo family share their experiences of growing up bilingual in New Zealand and explain why Tonga Language Week, Sunday September 6-12, is a cause for celebration. When 15-year-old Filipo Motulalo arrived in New Zealand from Tonga in 1972, improving his spoken English was just one of a multitude of challenges he faced.
