A fusillade of gunfire erupted about 6.30 in the morning of 30 June at the Bole Arabssa Condominium and the adjoining Ayat and Chefe areas of Addis Ababa. The cacophony spread throughout the morning, frightening local residents. But the fearsome racket wasn’t what they might have thought.
