In 1984, I directed Death and the King’s Horseman by Wole Soyinka at the University of Ibadan. It was the first production other than that directed by the playwright himself. Very positively received by the audience, was also highly praised by Nigeria’s foremost directors at the time — Ola Rotimi and Dapo Adelugba.
