LAS CRUCES - Authorities this week released myriad documents and videos related to a fatal police encounter earlier this year in Las Cruces. Antonio Valenzuela, 40, died Feb. 29 after Las Cruces Police Officer Christopher Smelser put him in a vascular neck restraint following a foot chase.
