Bishop Phonsie Cullinan of Waterford and Lismore has reminded people that there is no obligation to attend mass during the Covid 19 emergency, even when some churches reopen. In a message, he said that there are people who rightly fear gathering in a congregation when churches reopen for Eucharist.
