| Plymouth MP lays wreath on the Hoe for VE Day |

Plymouth MP and UK Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer today laid a wreath on the Hoe to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day. He should have been taking part in a series of events in front of crowds, but instead it was a sombre and near solitary ritual. The coronavirus lockdown has seen all manner of events from ceremonies to street parties cancelled.
