| Coronavirus: Italy deaths jump to 52 as EU raises risk level |

The number of deaths in the country from the virus rose by 18 over the last 24 hours. The EU commission said the risk level of COVID-19 to the European Union is now considered moderate to high. The top level is high. The illness has now spread to most of western Europe, with Portugal reporting its first two cases.
