The mayor of a South Korean city of Daegu has told residents to stay inside, as a surge in confirmed Covid-19 cases linked to a local church raised the prospect of wider transmission. Reuters reports that malls in Daegu, the country’s fourth largest city (population of 2.5 million), were largely empty.
