Jama’s father Dada Jama told SBS Radio Somali broadcaster Ibrahim Mohamed he received a phone call on Monday, saying that his son had been shot dead.
Jama, who adopted a new name when he fled after swapping his modelling career for the Islamic State , had reportedly been living in the Iraqi city of Fallujah, SBS says.
