Police in Yei River State have reminded people that it is illegal and extremely dangerous to fire celebratory gunshots into the air to celebrate the New Year. Major General Yuasa Lujang Kamba, the state police commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj this afternoon that shooting indiscriminately into the air will be investigated and punished accordingly.
