Professor S Gavin G MacDonald MA PhD FInstP FRSE. Born: 5 September 1923 in Beauly, Inverness-shire. Died: 17 November 2019, aged 96. Simon Gavin George MacDonald (known as Gavin) was born in Beauly, Inverness-shire, on 5 September, 1923, but his parents moved to Edinburgh at the end of his first year.
