Dan Newsom was a little bit rusty at job interviews — he hadn’t been to one in 36 years — when he prayed for God to lead him to a second career helping people. “I learned God doesn’t answer prayers halfway,” he said, and he laughed. Newsom, 67, has been executive director of the White County Single Parent Scholarship Fund for almost 10 years.
