The organisation representing businesses in the city centre is still hoping to stage a series of festive events - after the traditional Christmas lights switch-on was cancelled. Shoppers and traders have criticised the lack of festive spirit and absence of lights in Hanley at a time when other switch-ons are taking place across North Staffordshire.
