On Nov. 16 last year, the morning of the devastating fire on West Union Street, Athens Police Lt. Anthony Fish kept a cool head as flames licked around the roof of 14 W. Union while he attempted to save a student trapped amid a thick cloud of smoke on an adjacent roof.
