Mr Watson, who has had the job since 2015, found out via a text message whilst having a meal at a Chinese restaurant in Manchester, the Press Association reported. He claimed Mr Lansman "and his faction" disagreed with his position on Brexit and would "rather abolish me than have a debate about it".
